Love - in retro

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my new DV post.
Today I am going to share two of the new dies that were just released and I need to say that this time I am totally in love with them!
Maybe it's my " old" age-but all things RETRO just make my day.
And those gorgeous retro dies from this new release were just great to try some techniques too.
So here is my Love card for you !

First I made the glittered background over the thin double sided glue sheet. I use 3-4 fine glitters to get this colorful background.
The Love (Retro love ) die was die cut from the same glue sheet and covered  with red glitter and then glued over the background.

The same was done with one of the flowers from the Retro Van set. I decided to add some buttons and not to add more die cut shapes as I wanted to leave a bit of background seen.

I hope you like my new card and you love DV new dies!
I hope I have inspired you to create something fun today!  Please be sure to check back to the DV Blog often for more great ideas on how to use your dies!  And please share with us what you make on the DV Facebook Page.

Never afraid to count your blessings: art tag tutorial

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my monthly tutorial made for Rubber Dance stamp company.
I made this simple- not so - tag with paints, stencils, mediums and some letter stickers and it's all about counting your own blessings.
So the new Pick a number stamp set from RD is a star of this tag as you can see.
So let's see how to make this tag!
1. Make a hand mad tag (or use the real one if you have it) and cover it with 3 colors of fluid acrylics.

2. Use stencil to add the long arrow over the tag using modeling paste or any other texture paste and heat dry the paste to make some fun bubbles over the dry paste.

3.Use another stencil and add some wording with white acrylic paint. Let the paint dry before the next step/

4.Stamp the numbers randomly over the painted tag using permanent black ink. I also added some more numbers later and this is not shown on this photo, but on the final tag only.

5.Add some more golden paint over the white words and the arrow and paint the edges with the darker red paint to make the frame of your tag. Make a hole to add the ribbons on the top of the tag.

6.Add a few final touches to your finished tag. First I added the letter stickers  to make my title. Then I outlined the white words with black fine markers. I also added some white doodling over the edges with white pen. Tie the ribbons and your art tag is done.

Non traditional Christmas ornament tutorial

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my new Makin's Clay tutorial.
As this month we make Holidays projects, I decided to make an ornament. But then I decided that I want it full of glitter and in non traditional colors.
So pink, blue and golden yellow colors were the colors I picked for this project.
Another thing I tried to do in this tutorial was to find a few ways to add glitters to Makin's Clay and to see the ways that I like while working with glitter inside or over the clay.
So here is my step by step tutorial for you and I am sorry for the not so good photos, but it's raining here for a few weeks already and I can't do outside photos with the good light.
1.  The first way to add glitter to Makin's clay is to cover the wet clay with some glazing medium and just to sprinkle the glitter over. After the glitter is dry we can see this sparkling clay.
So first I covered the $1 plastic tree ornament with the wide circled yellow clay snakes made with Makin's Professional   Ultimate Clay  extruder.
I took a whole package of the  yellow clay to make the cover of the 1/3 top and 1/3 bottom as I used the very thick rolls, but if you want to cover it all, use the smaller circled disc and it will cover the whole ball.

2. As a next step I covered the ball with Ranger Glaze Accents and added a generous amount of golden glitter. Now let it dry for a few hours.

3. While waiting for the ball to dry you can make your embellishments.
The pink embellishments were made with Makin's Clay Christmas Nature  push mold and another way to add glitter to Makin's Clay.
I used white clay and mixed it generously with red glitter. I used the  Makin's Proffecional Ultimate Clay Machine to mix the color and it's not very glittery after all, but the color is pretty and looks like some kind of pink marble.
The mixed clay was pushed into the mold and  I trimmed the edges when it was totally air dry.As it wasn't too too sparkling for me, I added a bit of blue glitter over the dry pieces.

4. While waiting for the pink  shapes to dry, I moved to another  way  of adding glitter to Makin's  clay.
I made the thin sheets of white clay using theMakin's Proffecional Ultimate Clay  Machine on setting #5 and covered the wet pieces with blue glitter.

5. The dry thin sheet were then die cut with a snowflakes dies. I need to say that the dies I used didn't cut the #5 setting clay sheet too well, so I helped them a bit with  scissors later. The best die for  dry clay sheets are Sizzix Bigz and not those thin dies from all other companies.

6. Now I arranged the molded and die cut pieces over the dry golden ornament  using hot glue and you can see this beauty from 3 sides as there are a lot of  clay shapes over the ball.

And this is how it looks from the top.

All you need is just to hang it on your Christmas tree!

Live simply, Bloom wildly- with TPD

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my last November post made for Two Paper Divas stamp company.
This time I used two new stamp sets and stamped the sentiment inside the image.
This is a pretty easy to make card and all you need is to do some stamping, a bit of coloring of the flowers, some die cutting and some misting over the card.
I used two new stamp sets from TPD:
Bloom wildly
Bloom wildly sentiments

(As you can see there is a spelling mistake in the set I got, but I am sure this will be corrected in the shop sets.)

Fabric vase tutorial

Canvas Corps Saggy Baggy bags are just perfect to make those easy and quick fabric vases with Stiffen Stuff spray. The spray bottle is huge and you can make dozens of bags in different colors with one single 8 OZ. bottle. The canvas/burlap flowers are the great add- ons for those bags and all you need is to embellish them to your style with more canvas, burlap, lace or other products. Once dry- the fabric vase is self standing and you can get your favorite shape while it's still half wet.

Product list:
1.Saggy Baggy Green CC
2. Canvas flower Red CC
3.Jolly Christmas Sayings CC
4. Lace CC
5.Metal flower, rhinestone- craft shop
6. Stiffen Stuff spray-Beacon's Adhesives

Step by step tutorial:
Step 1: Fill the fabric canvas bag with a lot of bubble wraps inside. Spray the fabric bag with Stiffer Stuff fabric stiffering spray.Put it over the piece of thick transparency as this spray is sticky. Add a lot of spray all over and don't forget the bottom part of the bag.

Step 2: Put the bag as shown. Add more bubble wraps if needed as we want it to stand after the glue spray is dry. Arrange it in the position that you like and let it dry for a few(a lot) hours.

Step 3:Make a lace flower with a piece of burlap thread (and yes, you need a needle) and arrange the lace flower over the red canvas one as shown.

Step 4:Sew the red flower on the top/corner of your dry green baggy after you added some more embellishments to make your flower very pretty. Cut the sentiment tag from the cardstock and tie it to the Holidays Berries as shown.

Paper House Die cut stickers packs week

Today I am going to share two projects made with PHP stickers packs.
I love those packs a lot as each piece is doubled and you can use them to make some very similar projects and still to use the one single set of stickers.
The first project was made as a Holidays one and I used a lot of stickers from the Winter pack.

Altered puzzle banner

Step by step instructions: 1.Cover fife kid's old puzzle pieces with Paper House Productions patterned paper. Ink the edges with clear embossing ink and heat emboss with gold powder.
2. Stamp small Holidays images with Inspired by Stamping stamps and heat emboss them in gold.
3. Glue all PHP stickers and paper cuts as shown. Make holes and tie the ribbons to connect the banner pieces. Add some glaze over the paper die cuts. Add the golden pearled swirl over
one of the pieces and randomly add some more pearls around.

Wizard of Oz memory game

The second project for today is a Memory game I made using the whole pack of Die cut Wizard of Oz stickers.

Product list:
Paper House Productions
Wizard of Oz paper pad
Wizard of Oz Die-cut stickers pack
Clear package- recycled
This is a very easy to make project and the best part is that we have two of each and every die cut sticker in the whole pack. So it's just a perfect way to make a memory game with and for your kids. I used Wizard of Oz pack, but any pack can be used to make another new and exciting memory game.
First I glued the stickers over the 2 same pieces of Wizard of Oz paper from the paper pad and added the same stickers for each pair of play cards. I also distressed the edges to make the game look a bit vintage.
Then I used a recycled clear package, added a piece of patterned paper inside to make the covered front and closed around with a piece of washi tape. Then I tied a similar dotted ribbon on the top of the package and my game was done!
Try to make another one with another die- cut stickers and then another and another. Pure fun!

Paints make me happy art pages for ArtPlorations

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my second ARTplorations Mixed Media team post  for November.

So here is my new art pages in my half finished art journal and this time I used the Cameo title cut for the very first time.It was " You make me happy" one and I just cut this " you" thing and added " paints" that really make the artist happy.
I used 2 of my most loved ARTplorations stencils and one of the Mixed Media stamp sets and a lot of mediums. I can't even count the different paints and mediums used here to make this very textured pages with nothing but stamps, stencils  and one paper title cut.

Create art : Mixed Media tag tutorial

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my monthly Mixed Media tutorial made for ARTplorations blog.
Today I made a simple, but yet fancy, Mixed Media tag  . This is one layer tag, made with different mediums, lots of new ARTplorations stencils and some new STAMPlorations stamps. It's totally flat, but looks like it has a lot of texture and layers.
So let's see how to make this tag.
1. Paint your hand made tag (or use the real one if you have it) with a mix of 3 fluid acrylics for the full coverage of the cardstock.

2.Use texture paste to make one single long arrow using the new stencil called Feathers and Arrows. I used just one simple arrow from the top to bottom of this tag. Heat dry the paste to make some " bubbles" texture.

3.Add " Create art" words with the same paste and another new stencil called Fearless. Let this one air dry.

4. Add some splashes and dots using the third new stencil- Flutters and Splatters. This stencil is perfect to use with white paint and make- up sponge.

5.Now let's stamp! I stamped the EXPLORE the unknown over the texture words and the Beyond Boundaries between the words to make the  whole title of this tag. Use some permanent ink or heat emboss the black ink if you used the pigmented ink.  Add the line from the borders set around the edges and make some black pen outlining and white pen doodling over the finished tag.I also added a bit of golden and dark red paint over the white letters and shapes.
Two STAMPlorations stamp set used here are Explore and Artsy border makers.

7.Tie the ribbons and your fancy artsy tag is done!
