Embossing techniques tutorials (2 in this post)

Hello my dear crafty friends!

First of all the story. I was looking for embossing die to use for my  project and this LIVE-LOVE-LAUGH die was on the top. For quite a long time I wanted to make this L tag book, but  to add more L words to this project. So I added Listen and Learn and all together with a cover it makes a 6 pages book.
Now for my first  tag tutorial:Live tag
1. Dry emboss a think foil piece with your embossing die (I used Sizzix one here , as I don't have any Couture Creations products)
And here is my embossed  foil

The next step is a messy one: add black acrylic paint over your embossed piece. I used Ranger's  paint, but any craft paint will do the job as well. Let it dry. Let it dry a lot! Unless you want your finger and face to look like mine were... You don't want to see.

Now take your Sand It Core'dinations sanding tool (also any sandpaper works, but this tool is a legend) and " undress" you paint from the embossed images.

The next step is to add a few of your favorite Alcohol inks and I just used bottles and large drops here as I wanted a good coverage of my foil piece.

Your embossed piece is done and I just trimmed it to 5*3'' piece.
Now for the finished tag.  I made a hand made tag from black cardstock (6.5*3.5'' ), cut Kraft matting  (5 1/4*3 1/4'' ) and added my inked embossed foil over it.
A I wanted all my tags to coordinate I die cut a double Speech Bubble (CLD die)  ta make my word title for all tags, used the very same stickers font (Lily Bee), added the very similar metal corner brad to each tag and just some little embellishment to fit the tag.   If I had a feeling of " bare" tag I also added a small die cut piece under the front panel. For this tag I added half of die cut Doily (CLD) and kept the other half for another tag to add.
Now for my second technique made for this project:Laugh tag
I call it Rainbow Inking Dry embossing and it originally comes from my very favorite stamping technique I also used for my Love tag here.
For this technique you need a piece of glossy cardstock as it works better with glossy surface.
Dry emboss your glossy piece
Make your own circles template with 2-3 circle dies (CLD), but you can also use circle punches here.
Grab 3 primary colors Staze-On inks (Mustard, Blazing Red and Azure are primary colors) and now put your template over the dry embossed piece and add  inks with a make up sponge inside the circles.
Do use see a rainbow of colors as I do? Remember  to overlap all colors to get  your rainbow.Make the inking totally random.

Now mist the whole piece with a light color mist and let it all dry.

Trim the embossed inked piece to the same size as the previous one, add over your black tag and kraft matting. Make the same die cut Bubble title, add some embellishments. I added a die cut Butterfly here (CLD), some die cut Lace (CLD) , some Prima blings and Pink Paislee chipboards.
 .

And now I just want to show you my only non dry embossed tag on this project: Love tag

This is the very same technique made over heat embossed stamped image and the same kind of a final tag.

2 last tags were made with dry embossing, but I decided to cut the technical explanations here as those are very common uses of embossing folders. So here is my Learn tag: Chalk board technique with dry embossed black cardstock and white inking over it.(Script folder) My Listen tag was  made with dry embossing of Core'Dinations White wash cardstock and Music folder and then distressed with Sand It tool.
And now  my finished tags. Same titles and I just added some Nested die cuts to make a book over the board.

No die cut on this tag as those chipboards are pretty big and I wanted to show the embossed  piece.
And now for the cover piece: 2 circle nested dies and one embossing folder with a bit of inking over the surface and a lot of ribbons and charms.
And here is another look over the finished project
Hope you like my tutorials and  my tag project and cross my fingers to make the team.

See you!
