Summer paradise found lo

This page was published in Feb 2011 issue of SNR magazine
I had  some spare time time and decided to  scrap some old photos and to fit the page to some challenges.
So this one is for Artastic: seashore, seaguls (hand drawn and covered with white email paint) and some  shore accessories- sand castle, bucket etc
The page was  done with 3 kinds of pp from Fancy pants, Jellibean soup and Eco park, with A2Z chipboard that I decided not to cover at all to fit the sand look of Kraft paper matting, so I just added some distressed glitter splashes and glittered the sun.
The techniques here: inking. faux stiching, paper piecing, glittering, 3d glue splashes, using brads and buttonsover the paper
 And for more challenges:
Kraf paper for Kraft journal
 Bold colors for Creative prompts
 Photo inspiration for Crafty Ann

The scalloped chipboard album was from some RAK I got- sorry if I don't credit any company- if you know where it is from- please let me know. I added some Prima pp on the cover and the back cover and used journaling spots on other 4 pages. The back of these pages was misted using Prima masks and all kinds of mists- even some homemade ones.
I added some Tando creative  village chipboards - aren't they cute?  They were painted and embellished. And on another page I just used this Tando creative big leaves with distressed paint and added a big silk flower.

Life is really good

Just wanted to share some great news with you.. After doing 8-9 DT in challenge blogs for last year,  I decided to try some shops and manufacturers as it was a time to get some goddies  too and not just do things for recognition only (also British Tando creative I design for and SNR magazine found me before by themselves, so I do design now for non challenge companies)
So I submited for  4 calls  and got 2!! "yes, we want you" answers.(Didn't get answers from  other 2- but anyway what I have now is exactly  what   I can manage without any breakdowns .. )
The first one is Scrap with V- Australian shop, where I am going to design class kits.
I just  got the first 2 kits to design and they are gorgeous, I promise you they are.
The second one is the Die Direct new section called Cheery Lynn designs and I am going to design using their best ever thin dies .These is an USA company that designs metal dies for any  non electronic die cut  system and their lines are endless..Hope to get my welcome pack  soon and to show  you what can be done with those beauties. And then to continue with their new releases..
So thanks  to everyone who believes in me (also my good friends are familiar with  the only company I  really dream to design for- and I  think it will  be a long lasting never coming to reality  dream.. )

Sew sweet altered box

I love to alter old boxes- and this one was not an exeption- the box from  some disk on  key- very fancy for the cheap  small item and pretty big too.
The paper is from Graphic 45 , the fabric  application   from Prima and then I just added a lots of sewing items- real and faux and I think that now I have really cute sewing box.
And as for challenges:
 Box for Mixed media

 Ribbons for Stamping scrapping central
 Sew for Gingersnap
Sew special for ABC DT blog
 Inspiration for Sandy's space

Take 1 :NY lo

This lo made Top 3 on Frosted designs challenge blog- thanks!!
My new page done as a  movie production- as my DD and their good  girl friend were posing in the middle of Harold square in NY city and this was just perfect for doing a page as a producer (me) and stars (them), using some film strips (die cut and a clear tape), making  some cityscape with misted  and painted  home diecuts and using  some apples for the sub title :Bite a big apple
I used one single page of Girls paperie paper line for this non holiday page and one journaling OA card and 5  sets of letters and still added my handwriting here
It is done in some X-mas colors for sure not  a winter holiday page
 Sketch for Crafty sketches
 Colors for Paper players

This page was published in Scrapstreet magazine June 2011 issue
My new page made with lot of mist- I actually did a wall using this office black stickers.
The other things were huge recycling- the bead necklace was made by me about 6 years ago and nobody wants it.. The metal piece on the corner is an old earring and white and silver button is a vintage one.I even used the  transparency from the packaging and 4 fonts for the title

8 days of light

This page was published in Dec 2010 SNR issue
This is a season for all relifions holidays- and our Hannukkah is one of them.
Just as a reminder: we celebrate it for 8 days and each day we light a candle or oil light  in a special candle holder we call HANNUKKIA..
The 9 th candle is the one we use to light all other candles from and it is called SHAMASH
So this page is done for this holiday and the colors are bright and shiny and the  small dreidel on the corner- all glittered is also one  of this holiday's simbols, together with some oily fried food (look for my receipt pages in the blog) and with money presents for the kids- usually the candy shaped  coins, not a real money, and other toys and presents too..
So welcome to our holidays
And now for some challenges:I decided to enter this for any holiday challenge asked- as this is our religion winter holidays
This is a season for Stamp and create- also it is Hannukkah, but still our season for Holidays

My dad, his music, our faith lo

When I asked for these music chipboards from Tando creative for my DT work, I knew that they were for some pages about my Dad.. My father is one of the most known Israeli composers and music is his life all together with his family..
So as his 81 Birthday is pretty close I decided to use the chipboards and to make a page for him.
And as there is always a problem with me  doing clean and simple pages and my shabby style can't be so usefull here- I fanally did a vintage but clean and simle lo
I printed this photo from his book bunner on transparency, added a lonf and big title using Music chipboard with distressed paint- blue and  a bit of green together, than painted  music notes with black acrylics, added MME journaling  spot with  my handwriting and another handmade tag with his initials and some ribbons as the only embellishments around this page

Blue bliss beaty lo

This page was published in Jan 2011 issue of SNR
My  very new page- the fast one- made  in a less than an hour- pure monochromatic page with unique title made with one huge letter B and 3 words with B.
Only a few techniques used on this one- inking the embossed chipboards, tearing the paper and painting some thin chipboard with crackle paint. I used some recycling from J. Bowlin packaging- these 2 small journaling spots near the title and some corner pounder over the overphoto tabs made with OA pp.
And as for some challenges- mostly colors for this week
Shabby for Simon says stamp and show - I won this one randomly- thanks!!
Things that fly for Stamp with fun
 Colors for Artful inkables
Glitter- for ABC

This page won the layers challenge on I scrap it creations blog- thanks!!
I did this new page with Scrap your stash November sketch- one of the 3- as this month I was asked to be a guest designer on this  great  scrapbooking blog.
I did this sketch very unscripted- still recognizable
It was also done for some more web challenges too:
3 butterflies- twine and some $ store items (the button on my handmade flower)- for Mission to create
Tickets for Paper play
Scallopes for Paper issues
Make your flowers for Prairie fairy
 Tickets for Oh, Alice

8 days you mostly eat lo

This page was published in Dec 2010 SNR ISSUE
This page made Top 3 on Lasting memories stitching challenge- thanks!!
At the time everyine scrap the Holidays - I decided to scrap our holidays too- so this is the recipe page for our Hannukkah most favorite and  " low callories" food- kind of a doughnut with lot of jelly and anormous amoount of callories and we eat it for 8 days of the Holiday and  a month before..
And then we all  begin a diet. As  this holiday is about the oil that was found in the temple and   one small jar  ws enough for lighting the lamps for 8 days- we eat food connected with oil.. And this is one of them..
Great looking one too..
So as a recipe page  has to be simle and clear- I did it the simplest possible way for me
American crafts papers, cardstocks  and letters on Kraft base, layering, printed recipe, some faux stitching, using 2 porder punches and making self made bowl full of Sufganiot- with lots of glitters and as you  can see- no other embellishment at all..
 So now for some challenges:
Food for Trial makers
Stitching- faux - for Lasting memories
Layers for I did it creations

Dream baby

My very first job on my new Scrap with V Australian shop DT was to make a page with a sketch provided on NOV. 1 st in the shop new blog
As I wasn't sure about the level of techniques we need to share- I did  this  one as it was- no rotating, flipping or cutting pieces of it and I really like the outcome
I used this Tando creative leaves chipboard covered with glitter glue, glittered some clouds on a printed  transparency (cut to 2 pieces for the sketch), border punched cardstock, glued some dew drops, inked some chipboard stars and glittered a big  flower
Products used:
AC cardstock- red, AC pp,AC thickers and ribbon as I am going to enter this for AC 6 colors challenge
The photo is of my very American nephew Omri about 16 years ago

Don't talk- create- art journal cover

This work was Top 5 on glitter challenge on ABC blog- thanks!!
I never finished any art journal in my life- but I did a lot of covers from this very cheap and great Canson mini albums (cost of about 4$ for this heavy weight 20 pages of  fantastic  white cardstock  inside and a great binding very easy to take of  and the textured cover- I am just so sorry I bought 3 only.. And they are all gone as this was a discount store)
So this is another new cover  and I hope to begin with the inner pages some day .
I did some  clear  ink stamping, heat embossing, inking resist technique, stamping all over, collaging, lace pleating and working on this Tando creative floral corner chipboard..
Anyway it can't be " working"- it was mostly trying to do something with an unknown result
Fists I  added some gesso, than inked with a distress ink and it was a great  brownish mute color..
But then I decided to add some 3d  glue over it and the mute color became the shining red..
Who need this red on this vintage cover? So I added some beads as I thought it will help to deminish this red.. No chance.. I tryed to use some alcohol inks- brown and green as this became the hard  epoxy surface.. Nothing.. Still bright red.. So I  painted it with white dey brush here and there..Still damn red
As a last step- before it goes to the trash- I added some distress stickles- and here it is.. Not so red anymore, mixed media vintage  look.. A bit of a mess- but doesn't mixed media is all about a mess?
As a final touch I added  some fibers. ribbons, Tim Holtz key, pin, clock and a charm and made a title with 3 fonts and I am really happy with a result.
So don't afraid to do some crazy chipboard covering- maximum it will  go to the trash (O, no,
this one is for my Tando DT job- and I am not going to get new ones for a few month..)
And now for some web challenges too:
  Mixed media for Design dollies
Ribbons for Scrap and stamp central
Glitter for ABC
